tl;dr: I worship God through music and when it sounds off (to me), it distracts me alot. Not everyone is like this so while I think I did a terrible job, others are still blessed by it all and that’s great and I really should remember that more often.

Often during prayer about/before leading worship, I pray that we (the team) will be okay with the technical issues that invariably come up and focus on just worshiping God.

This is, in fact, something I definitely struggle with.

(Something about God working through us even/especially when we are not at our best goes here… and something else, I’m sure. I’ve been wanting to type this up since last Sunday, but it’s been a busy week. This is better than nothing.)

I can’t stand commercials. When I watch TV, there are no breaks, there’s a fade to black or a dramatic pause, then they return. Possibly in the same pose as before. On a real TV? Man, commercials take forever. I was channel surfing the other day and Spike (don’t look at me like that) was doing a Star Wars marathon. Sweet. So I flip on to Spike. Commercial. Okay, I can wait.

Commercial. Alright, that’s fine. Commercial. Ugh, really? So, bottom line, 60-90 seconds into watching Empires Strikes Back, I did not see any ESB. Such a shame.

Maybe I’ve just forgotten the uses of commercial breaks. Going to the bathroom, getting more food, conversing with friends… then again, there’s the pause button.

(Another thing, it’s not like there’s any delay from watching it online immediately after it airs and watching it on the West Coast as it airs. In fact, it might even be faster. Sheesh.)
