Thoughts and Things

[…] I don’t have all the answers. I don’t know how to jolt myself into seeing what each moment could become. But I do know one thing: the solution doesn’t involve watering down my every little idea and creative impulse for the sake of some day easing my fit into a mold. It doesn’t involve tempering my life to better fit someone’s expectations. It doesn’t involve constantly holding back for fear of shaking things up.

Thoughts! (Not so much Things)

I’ve never really understood a large part of Asian American “culture.” A large part would be the rapping away, crossing arms and acting tough shtick.

I found this quote on a Facebook group: “It’s time to take a stand. It’s time to stop Asian Americans from shaming themselves and their race by telling your fellow AA to find a different talent aside from trying to emulate African Americans.”

I feel better knowing that I’m not the only Asian American who feels that way. (On that topic, I wonder how Asian American I actually am, but I digress…)
